Cookie Poliicy

Information pursuant to art. 13 of the Privacy Code (Legislative Decree No. 196/03) regarding the use of cookies

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the user’s device (usually the browser), where they are stored and later retransmitted to the site on the user’s next visit. A cookie cannot access other data on the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses, or collect e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some cookie functions may be performed by similar technologies. In this document, the term “cookie” refers to both cookies and similar technologies.

While browsing, you may receive cookies from websites or servers other than the one you are visiting (so-called third-party cookies), which may include elements (e.g., images, maps, sounds, links to pages on other domains) embedded in the site. Some cookies (“session cookies”) are assigned to the user’s device only for the duration of the visit and expire when the browser is closed. Other cookies (“persistent cookies”) remain on the device for a longer period. The specific purposes of the different types of cookies installed on this site are described below.

How to disable cookies

Below you will find instructions to disable cookies.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used solely to “carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see art. 122(1) of the Privacy Code). Technical cookies include navigation or session cookies (which enable normal navigation and use of the website), analytics cookies (considered technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect aggregated information about the number of users and how they visit the site) and functionality cookies (which allow the user to navigate according to selected criteria, such as language, to improve the service provided). Installation and use of technical cookies do not require the user’s prior consent.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are used to deliver advertising messages that correspond to the preferences expressed by the user while browsing. The use of profiling cookies requires the user’s consent.

Third-party cookies

Depending on who installs cookies on the user’s device—whether it is the operator of the site being visited or another site installing cookies via the first—a distinction is made between first-party and third-party cookies.
